Job Description:
Position: Principal Technical Consultant (Mahwah, NJ) Duties: Plan and coordinate technical projects involving the
development of speech and touch-tone enabled interactive-voice-response (IVR)
enterprise applications on various voice platforms. Coordinate coding and
testing of assigned programs, and develop and analyze functional
specifications for complex IVR applications. Identify product issues and
business requirements, and deliver innovative solutions for Nuance’s
speech and touch-tone enabled IVR enterprise applications. Provide
technical guidance regarding software development best practices and ensure that
project tasks are completed in accordance with the overall project timeline.
Create project deliverables and appropriate design documentation, and
develop processes that ensure the delivery of innovative software
prototypes and products. Work with clients, UI, and project management to
design and implement innovative speech applications, coordinate customer
support services during production deployment, and resolve complex
technical issues. Train, support, and mentor project team members on
programming techniques and methodologies. Evaluate and modify standard
development processes in order to recommend changes in policies, best
practices, and development procedures. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) Computer
Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information
Systems, or a related field and three (3) years of experience performing Java
and J2EE web-based development for Interactive Voice Response (IVR)
applications and reports; OR, in the alternative, Bachelor’s degree (or foreign
equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and five (5) years of
experience as indicated above. Also requires demonstrated expertise (DE): performing
IVR-related hardware configurations and installations; DE performing speech and
touch-tone enabled IVR application development using Avaya, Cisco, and
Genesys voice platforms; DE interfacing with internal stakeholders, business
teams, project managers, and external clients to translate business
requirements into technical specifications; and DE maintaining IVR
