we enrich the lives of those we touch. Summary The Controller is
responsible for the accounting and finance operations of the
company, to include the production of periodic financial reports,
maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a
comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate
risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial
results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally
accepted accounting principles. The Controller is also responsible
for cash management and risk management. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not
all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and
responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to
time. + Provides financial information to management by researching
and analyzing accounting data + Summarizes current financial status
by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss
statement, and other reports + Reconciles financial discrepancies
by collecting and analyzing account information + Maintains
financial security by following internal controls + Maintains
customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial
information confidential Transactions + Ensure that accounts
receivables are collected promptly + Ensure that accounts payable
are paid in a timely manner + Ensure that all reasonable discounts
are taken on accounts payable + Ensure that periodic bank
reconciliations are completed + Ensure that required debt payments
are made on a timely basis + Maintain the chart of accounts +
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system + Maintain a system of
controls over accounting transactions + Ensure timely accrual and
payment of sales taxes in multiple states Reporting + Issue timely
and complete financial statements + Coordinate the preparation of
the corporate annual report/audit + Recommend benchmarks against
which to measure the performance of company operations + Calculate
and issue financial and operating metrics + Manage the production
of the annual budget and forecasts + Calculate variances from the
budget and report significant issues to management + Provide for a
system of management cost reports + Provide financial analyses as
needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract
negotiations Compliance + Coordinate the provision of information
to external auditors for the annual audit + Monitor debt levels and
compliance with debt covenants + Complies with federal, state and
local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new
legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising
management on needed actions + Maintains professional and technical
knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional
publications, establishing personal networks and participating in
professional societies Education and/or Experience + Requires a
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business administration
+ 5 - 7 years of progressively responsible experience + Preferred
experience at a Home Improvement company Must be proficient in
