Job Description:

Waste Connections is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our technical team within the waste management sector. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of waste collection vehicles. Our ideal candidate will ensure operational efficiency and reliability of equipment crucial for daily waste management operations. The Mechanic will work in a dynamic environment adhering to safety standards while promoting Waste Connections' commitment to providing sustainable and reliable waste services. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on company vehicles and equipment to ensure efficient operation. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems faults. Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations. Manage inventory of tools and supplies, order replacements as necessary. Respond to emergency breakdowns and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Document repair and maintenance work for company records. Strong mechanical and technical skills with a focus on vehicle maintenance. Ability to diagnose and fix hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues. Well-versed in the use of mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and time management skills.
