Job Description:
WHAT WE'RE DOING The Sikorsky Aerostructures Product Center is
responsible for the manufacture, procurement and assembly of
helicopter airframe structures. The Product Center has an immediate
opening for a 2nd Shift Operations Manager at our Bridgeport, CT
facility where sub-assembly, major assembly, composite
manufacturing and hydraulic and pneumatic tube fabrication are
conducted in support of UH/HH-60M, HH-60W and CH-53K programs. This
position will report directly to the Aerostructures Bridgeport
Operations Senior Manager and is responsible for providing
leadership over Major and Sub-assembly Operations on 2nd and 3rd
shifts including oversight over the area supervisors and hourly
associates. THE WORK Primary responsibilities include leading and
managing Bridgeport 2nd and 3rd shift sub-assembly and assembly
manufacture of UH/HH-60M and HH-60W fuselages. This includes
oversight of the area supervisors as well as all area metrics
including cost (product and indirect cost), quality (MRB’s,
Standard Repairs and Reworks), delivery (schedule performance), ESH
(Injury prevention and area safety and ergonomic improvements),
staffing, interface with union stewards as required and daily
interface with the area hourly workforce. In addition, this
position will include frequent interface with the overall
Aerostructure Product Center Leadership team, functional support
organizations such Material Logistics, Supply Management,
Manufacturing Engineering, ESH, Industrial Engineering and Quality.
Detailed Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Direct
supervision for area supervisors • Plan, lead, & manage the daily
activities associated with Bridgeport Major Assembly Build Units •
Responsible for area performance (schedule, quality and cost)
including participation & follow up actions from daily/weekly cost
& quality meetings • Responsible for area workload, individual
assignments & staffing • Coordinate daily with Manufacturing
Engineering, Quality, Supply Management, Material Logistics &
Industrial Engineering as needed to support the area of
responsibility • Coordinate with the Continuous Improvement
organization on identifying, planning & implementing area
improvement plans • Participate in daily and weekly site & center
production cost & quality meetings • Communicate to the area

Qualifications • B.S. in engineering (mechanical, industrial),
operations management or equivalent relevant practical experience •
8 years of technical and management experience within a
manufacturing environment, preferably helicopter manufacturing or
equivalent combination of education and experience will be

strong communication and interpersonal skills and must have
demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all

Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with
this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed
Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports
a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional
flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40
hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time
away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off
benefits. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position
in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major
metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland,
Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is
$90,200 - $159,045. For states not referenced above, the salary
range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work
location. Please note that the salary information is a general
