DescriptionSUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under general
direction from the workforce development lead, the Director of
Training leads curriculum development, training, and coaching for
the Early-Career Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program. This role
ensures high-quality clinical education, compliance with regulatory
standards, and continuous skill development. The Director also
directly oversees a virtual NP coaches and provides real-time
clinical coaching across healthcare facilities.General Tasks And
Responsibilities Will Include
- Clinical Coaching & Oversight
- Conduct in-person and virtual observation and coaching for
early-career psychiatric NPs across 11 acute care facilities.
- Oversee a virtual NP coach to ensure engagement and progress
tracking of program participants.
- Curriculum Development & Education
- Develop and implement educational modules tailored to
psychiatric NPs.
- Guide the creation of didactic content, workshops, and training
sessions.
- Facilitate and/or lead educational sessions
- Collaborate with educational councils on curriculum development
and administration.
- Program Assessment & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct needs assessments and ongoing evaluations to refine the
program.
- Partner with Chiefs of Psychiatry, Office of Patient-Centered
Care, and Office of Behavioral Health to address training
gaps.
- Stay current with national psychiatric NP education and
regulatory standards to inform program updates.
- Develop and administer knowledge surveys to measure training
effectiveness.
- Participant Development & Tracking
- Monitor individual learning progress and recommend tailored
educational resources.
- Support early-career psychiatric NPs in skill-building and
professional growth.
- Other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.Minimum
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid license and current registration to
practice in a mental health discipline issued by the New York State
Education Department (NYSED); and
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a
health care setting or regulatory agency administration, with an
emphasis on development and evaluation of mental health delivery
services; three (3) years of which must have been in an
administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity.Department
Preferences
- 5-8 years of experience
- Clinical doctorate preferred, or Master's Degree in Nursing
with specialization in Psychiatry
- Knowledgeable in:
- Healthcare operations
- Behavioral health conditions and treatment modalities
- Proficient in Microsoft suite
- Curriculum development
- Performance measurement
