Job Summary:

The Computer Operator will monitor multi-technology computing platforms, interfaces and servers. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a stable operating environment and attaining maximum utilization of system facilities. He/she will also be responsible for the creation of AD accounts, mailboxes and rights as requested by the users. Disable accounts as needed.

Please note this is an evening shift position. The schedule is Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:30pm-7:30am and requires flexibility.

Essential Functions:

+ Operates and monitors console systems and peripheral equipment.

+ Troubleshoots and restores routine technical service and peripheral equipment, schedules production runs, performs system backup processes, disaster recovery tests and loads consumables as needed Attend & participate in weekly meeting with Manager Demonstrate Ownership.

+ Follow Change Control Process.

+ Publish Daily Morning Report Perform Operational/Administrative duties with quality.

+ Provides technical expertise to aid in the creation of Initiative Proposals by Manager.

+ Work with Manager to ensure that activities are in support of the Operations Team initiatives.

+ Create, maintain & post applicable documentation for area of administration in the Operations Team share.

+ Ensure immediate escalation of production issues to Manager or to the Director in the absence of the Manager.

+ Participates in projects, as applicable.

+ Provide Phone Support/ helpdesk functions. Report distribution.

+ Effectively communicate with Manager, cross functional team leads/team members, clients & vendors (both written & verbal).

+ Escalate/Communicate all other issues/concerns to Manager/Director, as applicable.

+ Document, create and maintain user accounts and logins for network users, email and other Active Directory Applications spanning across the RWJBarnabas Health system. Grant and assign appropriate permissions to Shared directories.

+ Document all permission changes within the tracking system and Active Directory when appropriate.

+ Log problems reported to Account Administrator area for tracking and accountability.

+ Disable users when requested by management or termination process. Redirect employee emails when requested by management.

Job Requirements:

+ A High school diploma, Data Processing/Operational Support School or equivalent

+ 0 - 1 year (s) of IT experience.

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent required within one (1) year of hire.

+ Candidates who do not possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent will be provided the opportunity to enroll in a GED/HSEA program at time of hire as a condition of employment. A hired candidate will be provided one (1) year from date of hire to successfully complete a GED program and obtain their HSEA.
