Job Description:
The API Engineer will join the Guardian Life Group API team
responsible for providing seamless data integration between
Enterprise Applications using Real time Restful APIs, messaging and
event driven Kafka streams.Responsibilities:Design, build and
manage scalable and robust Restful APIs. Adhere to Guardian's
prescriptive Restful API Guidelines and principles.Employ API First
design using Open API Specifications Build API Proxy applications
and configure API security policies on Apigee Edge XML Gateway.
Create dashboards and reports for API monitoring using log
aggregations tools such as Splunk. Participate in daily stand ups
as a member of the Agile team. Participate in 2-day PI Planning
sessions every 12 weeks as part the SAFE Agile Release Train. Work
closely with Business, Architecture and Product teams to come up
with the right solution.Be Self-driven, highly motivated and hold
yourself to high standards.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in
Computer ScienceExperience programming in J2EE, Spring boot, Node
JS, Apache Camel, React JSUnderstanding of Agile and SAFE
MethodologiesExperience with version control and CI/CD automation
tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins and MavenExperience with
Docker containers and AWS Cloud services S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, Redis
Cache.Experience using Databases such as MySQL, Oracle and
CassandraExperience with messaging platforms such as ActiveMQ, IBM
MQStrong understanding of Rest API Best Practices, Data Driven
Design, Microservices Architecture, Enterprise Integration Patterns
and Event Streaming.Experience with API Security frameworks, token
management and user access control including OAuth 2.0, JWT
Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics,
ZenossLocation & Vaccination Requirements This is a remote position
with occasional meetings at our Holmdel, NJ office.Covid - 19
vaccinations required for this position.Any offer of employment
