Job Description:

We are a growing law firm aimed at helping clients with their debt including tax debt as well as helping small business grow their businesses and become profitable. We are seeking an enrolled agent, CPA. tax preparer or tax attorney to help our clients resolve past tax debts as well as file tax returns if they are not in compliance. Knowledge of New Jersey personal and business taxes as well as Federal taxes is necessary. You'll advise clients on tax optimization strategies and help them make smart financial decisions to maximize their long-term savings. Jobseekers should have great listening and customer service skills and the ability to convey complex tax information in an approachable way. If you're a detail-oriented professional who enjoys helping people, we have a spot for you. This position can be part-time or full-time. The position is remote however you MUST be able to do in-state audit meetings if required by the tax department.

Responsibilities:

Review each tax form to make sure everything is accurate and ensure tax compliance
Schedule consultations to go over tax strategy with clients and provide a price estimate
Use all eligible tax benefits for the client
Use the utmost care when handling documents that contain private client information
Inform customers about the process for submitting their income tax returns and be clear about the deadlines to ensure clients' taxes are filed on time
--- Negotiate with the IRS and New Jersey State Tax Division to lower tax penalties, interest and payments
--- Assist with review of Profit and Loss Statements, Cash Flow and Budgeting

Qualifications:

Has used standard tax computing software to file returns
At least five years of experience in tax preparation
Has a valid PTIN from the Internal Revenue Service
Must have a college degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
--- At least one year of experience in tax return preparation
--- Be qualified as an enrolled agent, CPA, or tax attorney able to negotiate with and be a 2848 representative before the IRS
