Colliers Engineering & Design has a newly
created opportunity for a mid-level attorney (5-7 years in
practice) to assist in our expanding Legal Department as Corporate
Counsel. This role will involve review and negotiation of public
and private professional services contracts, RFPs/RFQs, reviewing
and advising on insurance coverage issues, as well as addressing
M&A matters and post-acquisition integration responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to, and become an

forward-thinking acquisition growth strategy. We are looking for a
lawyer with prior in-house experience, particularly in the areas of
M&A transactions, public/government contracting, and insurance
coverage matters. The position will report to the General Counsel.
A "can do" problem-solving approach is essential. Also, a
willingness to learn new things and to contribute with new
processes and procedures are also essential. Some limited travel
may be involved.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and
state laws pertaining to professional services agreements,
licensing agreements, construction contracts, AIA contracts, NDAs,
and other business agreements/documents with clients, vendors, and
• Manage tasks and provide advice on integration of newly-acquired
firms, including pre-closing due diligence as well as
post-acquisition integration due diligence and risk management
• Liaise with our various insurance brokers regarding coverage
requirements and compliance.
• Possess strong client-relations, interpersonal, written and oral
communication and analytical skills and be able to communicate
clearly, concisely, and professionally with all levels of
management regarding legal issues.
• Ability to draft, review, evaluate, and negotiate various
business agreements and effectively manage contract administration
policies, systems, and procedures.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, handle a rapidly changing
and fast-paced environment, juggle multiple priorities, and work
collaboratively with various stakeholders.
• J.D. Degree from an ABA-Accredited
law school and strong academic credentials.
• 5-7 years’ experience in M&A work and/or contract review,
drafting, and negotiations; preferably within the Engineering
• New Jersey Bar Admission – additional states a plus but not
• In-house experience required.
