seeking a Chef Manager
to join our management team in Long Branch,
NJ. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with
stellar communication skills. This position support 10 school
kitchens within the district, as well as catering, and ensure
quality of food in schools.
The Chef Manager will
supervise cooks and oversee the preparation, portioning,
garnishing, and storage of food. Estimate food consumption
and purchase food. May assist in cooking and preparing food
as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage
facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash
management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular
basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit
General knowledge of USDA standards
and/or willingness to learn k12 regulations and standards
needed to be successful in this role.
successful candidate will:
- Responsible for managing and building our catering program
- Understands and enforces all USDA regulations
- Provides staff training for exceptional service and to control
- Manages expenditures
- Executes Exhibition cooking on a regular basis to educate our
students and staff.
- ensure food safety, sanitation and
workplace safety standard
working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production
and management systems.
