Job DescriptionSUMMARYUnder limited supervision of Molded
Tooling Manager, supports Production by developing, constructing,
altering and repairing a wide variety of injection molds, tooling,
and components. Performs assignments that use normal tool room
equipment for work involving accurate measurements and extremely
close tolerances.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.Checks and repairs molds
for mold readiness program ensuring optimal running
condition.Troubleshoots as required on all molds, including but not
limited to rack, slide, straight open/close molds, and including
parts with both internal and external threads, hot runners, and
multiple cavities.Completes changeovers of mold components as
necessary to meet schedule demands.Confirms parts by comparing
measurements to specifications.Confirms assembly by verifying
dimensions, clearances, and alignment of parts and components with
micrometers, thickness gauges, gauge blocks, etc.Completes assembly
by bolting and doweling parts and components.Diagnoses and corrects
issues in the typical Heyco Mold.Sets up and operates machine tools
to machine parts to specifications, and verifies conformance of
machined parts to specifications.Plans, alters, and repairs a wide
variety of tools, jigs, dies, fixtures and gauges to very close
tolerances.Troubleshoots mold problems on production floor.Works
from schedules and oral and written instructions. Prepares and
installs tools per established operating procedures.Completes and
files required information for repairs to be made on
worksheets.Reports any problems or damage to components or molds to
owner and supervisor.Works to continuously improve skills and
capabilities. Makes suggestions on how to improve procedures.Keeps
work areas clean and orderly.Follows all departmental procedures to
ensure quality requirements are met.May be required to work
overtime as business conditions dictate.Performs other duties as
required.RequirementsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job

EXPERIENCEAssociate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year
college or technical school; or high school diploma or general
education degree (GED) and five years experience building and
repairing injection molds and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to
read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings and
schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and
correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability
to correctly perform basic shop math, simple trigonometry and
Statistical Process Control calculations.REASONING ABILITY Ability
to identify and solve practical problems dealing with a variety of
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PPE for this position includes
safety glasses, hearing protection and hard toed shoes. The
following PPE may also be necessary based on the tasks being
performed: face shields, gloves (general cloth, nitrile chemical
resistant, and/or heat resistant).
