www.veolia.comJob DescriptionPRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the control
system hardware/software, communication networks, and historical
database systems.
- Maintenance and repair of control system equipment includes
PLC, server, workstation, remote connection, plant fiber optic,
routers, switches, firewalls, cellular modems, and serial
radios.
- Responsible to maintain control system Emergency coverage. Some
night and weekend emergency work is required.
- Responsible for developing and managing control system upgrade
project.
- Participate in the MADSJ Emergency Response Team.
- Review and approve appropriate panel drawings, specifications
and documents for control system related project.
- Facilitate project set-up and resource management by requesting
resources from respective area managers, for specific scopes of
work, and monitor team resources during project execution.
- Assist operations, engineering, and corporate departments in
defining control system requirements/direction and improving
operational efficiency, energy efficiency and cyber security.
- Lead and/or co-facilitate a team through root cause analysis
efforts, troubleshoot systems, identify resolution options,
implement best option.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors/integrators performance to
ensure control system fulfill the expected requirements.
- Develop standard operational procedures, consumption reports,
hydraulic data analysis etc. supporting operations and to ensure
regulatory compliance and the requirements of both internal and
external clients.QualificationsEducation / Experience / Background
- B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field and 5+
years' experience (as described below).
- 5+ years' experience in control system technology.
- Experience in water treatment plants and distribution systems
extremely helpfulKnowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge/Experience of Digital I/O, Analog I/O, and popular
control system packages such as Rockwell, GE Proficy, Concept
Wonderware, and/or ClearSCADA required.
- Knowledge/Experience of cyber security, network routing and
switching, industrial communication/network protocols, database and
computer programming required.
- Control system ladder logic programming experience
required.
- Windows OS Administration, Servers and Workstations
required
- Databases and reporting for SCADA systems helpful
- Communications including radio, cellular, DSL and TCP/IP
networking a plus
- Ability to express himself/herself orally and in writing
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to develop and meet project schedules and financial
goals, along with contingency plans
- Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment and panel
designs meet requirementsPhysical Requirements
- Physical: Walking on uneven terrain; climbing hills and stairs;
moderate lifting up to 25 pounds; sit, stand and walk for long
periods at a time.
- Sensory: Must be able to speak, see clearly and hear. Must be
able to smell gases.
- Mental: Must be able to read and write. Ability to learn new
water industry technology and teach.This position description is
